About Dan

Dan is an experienced Partner and head of our Commercial and IP department.

Dan has an ever-growing and loyal client base and works closely with both UK and international clients regularly advising, drafting and negotiating on high-level and high-value commercial and business contracts. Dan is known for being very personable with the ability to assess his client’s commercial needs, identify potential risks and act swiftly whilst providing pragmatic and practical advice.

Dan has been awarded the status of “recommended lawyer” in the Legal 500 independent directory which builds upon success achieved earlier in his career when he was recognised by Wales Online as one of 30 young lawyers in Wales to watch out for.

Away from the office, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, young daughter and 2 dogs, going to the gym, supporting his hometown football team and renovating houses (when he has the time).

Experience:

Dan’s commercial acumen has lead to him playing a key advisory role to many international clients and several high profile deals, including;

• Acting as one of the lead advisors to a global leading diagnostics company, providing daily legal and commercial advice..
• Negotiating and advising on behalf of Brand Pilot for the appointment of their client Tom Kerridge as the brand ambassador for  Marks & Spencer food;
• Providing general day to day advice and support to one of the leading and largest Industry IoT suppliers.
• Advising on the equipment supply agreement that provides golf buggies and related equipment and support for use in professional golf tournaments around the world such as the Masters, Scottish Open and PGA;
• Drafting, negotiating and advising on a software license agreement from to the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education. This was a high-value, cross-jurisdictional contract worth £15million.
• Actively advised, drafted and negotiated terms between a client who is an innovative and homegrown biotechnology company and retail giant, Boots to conclude an agency agreement for the promotion and sale of Covid-19 home.
• Advised and concluded a contract manufacture and supply agreement for electronic components between a local manufacturer and a world leader in the design and development of test equipment used by utility companies with the contract value estimated between £10-£12 million.
